"I saw InterZone Perceptible last weekend at the Endstation Bochum cinema,
where they scored the silent film ORLACS HÄNDE live - for me THE cinematic
event of the year so far. (...) What the group performed is one of the best
and most haunting soundtracks I have ever experienced. The two gentlemen officially
play electric bass and accordion, but perform with an incredible jumble of effect devices,
keyboards etc., through which they chase the sounds of their instruments, so that the original
instruments are often barely recognizable. The whole thing is more of an industrial sound collage
that reminded me of Throbbing Gristle, SPK etc.. Much more electronic and avant-garde than the
line-up would suggest. (...) The movie (...) became a completely new experience.
The soundtrack of InterZone Perceptible does not for a moment attempt to illustrate the external
events. For example, the scene in which Orlac gives a completely ecstatic piano concert is
accompanied by a relatively monotonous humming/humming soundtrack, which bears no resemblance
to the sounds Orlac and his audience hear in the scene in question, but does describe Orlac's mood.
The artists illustrate the inner worlds of the characters, so to speak. The whole thing lets you
experience the movie in a completely new way (...) I have rarely had goose bumps so often with a
silent movie soundtrack.
A nightmare deluxe."
